Overview

Don't underestimate the utility of the unassuming FET Filter module, which couples FET flavored saturation with tone shaping equalization circuits. Each circuit block is individually configurable with onboard jumpers so you can set it up to best suit your processing needs. Drive into the module for more grit and texture, or engage it as a simple low mid cut EQ. A unique FET input stage with two bias settings buffers a gentle 6 dB/oct high pass filter, which then feeds a variable console-style midrange EQ circuit. Jumpers set EQ frequencies for the high pass filter and midrange EQ. An onboard trimpot sets the amount of boost or cut for the midrange EQ. When installed in Chroma the FET Filter module adds serious tone-shaping capability by enabling its filters to have variable control via Chroma's C-MIX knob. The FET Filter module expands Chroma's simple tone shaping features with variable low shelving EQ and midrange boost/cut EQ, thus creating a very powerful tracking or mixing channel.

About Colour

Colour is an exciting new modular platform for creating your own custom analog signal chains. The ever-growing family of modules allows you to bring multiple stages of high end analog processing to your setup a la carte. These are real analog plugins.

The Colour platform consists of Colour modules and hosts like Chroma and the DIY Recording Equipment Colour Palette. Colour modules are ultra-compact, swappable analog circuit blocks that snap into Chroma and impart various types of analog color such as distortion, saturation, compression, EQ, and even echo. Chroma provides drive and wet/dry mix controls, power, and support circuitry for one module.

The Colour Palette is a 3-slot host available as a 500 Series unit from DIY Recording Equipment. In the near future there will be rackmount version of the Colour Palette as well.
